ALTENEW VIDEO WATERCOLOR

**VIDEO+GIVEAWAY** Monochromatic Watercoloring w/ Dye Inks

Happy Wednesday! I am back with a brand new project with a quick tip on how to create a monochromatic watercolored look with dye inks you currently have.

Altenew just released a wonderful line of new stamps, dies, mask stencils, and 14 yummy new colors! So I am going to incorporate these into today’s tutorial but you can definitely use any similar products you have on hand to achieve today’s look.

If you watch the above tutorial, it would be a lot easier for you to follow along and understand the whole process on how the card comes together.

This card was made with my lovely mom in mind – she just turned 60 so I wanted to create something awesome for her awesome 60th birthday! And just like me, she loves the color blue (the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree!), so it was a no brainer for me to create a card using those colors.

I used a few colors from the brand new ink set called Lapis Lazuli and transferred the colors onto a palette and used clean water and a watercolor brush to create today’s look. It is very fun and a great way to maximize the use of waterbased dye inks.  It is a quite soothing process so I hope you definitely give this a try.

The lovely, large blooms are from the Wallpaper Art stamp set and I used the coordinating die set to pop those out once the watercolored images were fully dried. I added few elements to create a floral arrangement onto today’s card.

I wanted a bit of shine on the card, so I used the Antique Gold Ink Spray to add few splatters throughout the card front. It just adds a bit of texture that goes great with the rest of the color. The sentiment was used from the Stained Glass stamp set and was heat embossed.
