ALTENEW VIDEO

**VIDEO+GIVEAWAY** DIY Gold Embossing Paste

Happy April! The weather is getting warm and lots of flowers popping up where I live, so I thought this was a great excuse to create a floral card to share. Altenew just released fun layered dies and a brand new card kit and today’s project features one of those products.

Altenew is celebrating this release with a fun blog hop, so make sure to stick around to hop along with us! I also have giveaways you can enter, so stay tuned.

Metal dies are one of the very basic supplies we love to use when creating cards or layouts. Since these tend to be a bit more pricey than other supplies, I try to come up with different ways to get more use out of them. One way I love to use dies for is making the die cuts to be templates for backgrounds or focal points.

I am going to show you how you can create the card above with just a few steps in the video tutorial below:

Sometimes less is more – you can easily create this card by combining a couple of supplies you already have on hand! To create the medium for the background, I mixed white embossing paste with gold watercolor grounds. These are great for creating your own metallic embossing paste.

These photos don’t do the justice – the finished background has tiny gold sparkles that add a hint of elegance to the card. I wish you could see them here!

The background really deserves a full attention, so simple sentiment was added to finish off the card. I hope you enjoy today’s project! Don’t forget to leave some love on each of our blog hop stops and enter the giveaway below!
