One of the many questions I get from crafters is how they can easily watercolor with a nice color blending. Some crafters are fairly new to watercoloring so traditional techniques can be tricky or overwhelming. So I hope today’s video tutorial gives you a tip on how you can easily approach this subject.

If you do not wish to worry too much about controlling water or pigment amount and just want to enjoy layering colors with watercolor, simply choose 3-4 different shades of one color family. I think Altenew’s coordinating ink pads are perfect for this case! Make sure to watch the video tutorial above to see how I achieve this look.

To create today’s card, I used one of my favorite stamp set from this release called Botanical Garden. Variety of flowers and shapes are perfect for background stamping, watercoloring, or even for creating a center piece for any projects.

This color layering technique can be done with any coordinating inks you might have on hand. You can use any dye inks that coordinate well, or use distress inks for that matter. But I love getting more out of the inks I already have, and Altenew inks are not only great for layer stamping but also great for watercoloring. So why not take advantage of them, right?

I paired the watercolored piece with a sentiment from the You Are stamp set, which is another brand-new set from this release. I thought a small sentiment would be a perfect partner for today’s card where it won’t take away too much attention from the flowers.

Hope you enjoyed today’s video tutorial! Next up on the blog hop is Lydia Evans – make sure to check out the giveaway details before you go, so you can have a chance to win some wonderful prizes! Have a beautiful day and thanks for stopping by.
